As a licensed therapist I have found my work with children, adolescents, teens, and young adults to be extremely rewarding. I believe early intervention is key. Early intervention helps children at a very young age improve their abilities to learn skills so when they grow up they can better navigate through life, cope with challenging life stressors, and communicate their feelings, thoughts and needs effectively.
My goal as a Children’s Psychotherapist is to provide that environment for your child and your family. I advocate for every child, and provide them with the support and resources you and your family may need to thrive.
I received my Masters in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis on Children’s Studies from Antioch University in Los Angeles. I completed over 3000 hours of training at Vista Del Mar Children and Family services, and the Department of Mental Health for Children and Families. I also worked as a psychotherapist in a Level 14 locked facility for severely emotionally disturbed juveniles, supporting them in both inpatient and outpatient treatment settings.
I specialize in my work with children as young as 0 (working in conjunction with the caregiver and child). My expertise is in Play Therapy, Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), Trauma Focused Therapy, Psychodynamic, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Applied Behavior Analysis for children and adults diagnosed with ASD and ADHD. I provide services for children (0-11) adolescents and teens (12-17), and adults (18-30). I also include in my therapeutic services, support for parents and caregivers as a parent partner/educator. I provide a non-judgmental space to each and every one of my clients to feel safe, accepted, and heard. I foster a space where a child can process things such as divorce, trauma, anxiety, depression, self harm, adjustment challenges, daily life struggles, negative body image, and bullying; and I encourage and promote the ability to explore maladaptive behaviors and practice more adaptive coping strategies to combat current challenges. While working with your child, I also work collaterally and collaboratively with you and your family to better support and connect with your child.
I offer a 15-minute free consultation so I can meet with you and your child to answer any questions, and to see if we’re a good fit. I look forward to speaking with you.
My approach is always to provide a safe space for true collaboration through open, honest discussion.
