Often we find ourselves falling back into old patterns and beliefs, getting stuck in a cycle of unhealthy thoughts and behaviors. Beliefs affect our feelings which shape our thinking which define the nature of our actions. When working on change without first clearing the mind’s belief, emotion often wins and we find ourselves stuck in old patterns, making the same unhealthy decisions over and over again.
As an aid to psychotherapy, hypnotherapy uses guided relaxation techniques to achieve intense concentration and a heightened state of awareness. During hypnosis, you remain fully aware and in full control; you are simply in a relaxed state allowing you to be more open and honest, putting aside any insecurities, ego, and blocks you may have. Being in this relaxed state allows you to be more open to discussion and suggestion, opening the door to changing behaviors, perceptions, blocks, sensations, and reactions.
How Hypnotherapy Works
Using guided relaxation techniques, your body and mind are relaxed, allowing you to focus your attention on specific thoughts or tasks. This is a naturally occurring state of clearing the subconscious mind’s chatter and beliefs. This heightened state of focus gives your mind more control. When your conscious mind quiets down, anything going on around you becomes temporarily blocked out or ignored, aside from the issue you focus on. When the thinking mind quiets down, we can find the hidden patterns or beliefs that your mind is holding onto and that limit you from freeing yourself of unwanted behaviors, thoughts, and beliefs. We can access beliefs formed many years ago, allowing your subconscious mind to become receptive to suggestions and form new beliefs. Utilizing talk therapy during hypnotherapy allows us to clear out the blockages and upgrade your beliefs and language, allowing you to directly address the issues, regain control, and achieve change.
